Chorus Master

In his early career Richard was fortunate to collaborate with some of the world’s leading conductors as Chorus Master.  He was conductor of the London Philharmonic Choir during the 1980s and Assistant Chorus Master of the London Symphony Chorus before that for six years:

Claudio Abbado:  Verdi Requiem, Mahler 2, Mahler 3

Klaus Tennstedt:  Mahler 8 (Grammy nomination), including BBC TV broadcast and EMI recording , Beethoven 9, The Creation

Bernard Haitink:  Dream of Gerontius, Vaughan Williams Sea Symphony
(Gramophone Record of the Year, BBC Best recording).

Sir Colin Davis:  Beethoven Missa Solemnis recording

John Adams:  Recording of The Death of Klinghoffer (Grammy Nomination)

Kent Nagano: Recording of Carlisle Floyd “Susannah”.  Grammy Award
